Happy Tuesday, friends! Some of you have noticed there’s a new bag in my life – Isn’t she pretty? What should we name her? She was a little gift (to: me, from: me) during the holiday season and I absolutely love her! Before investing in designer handbags, I really do my research and think it over for a long time. I’m not really an impulsive shopper (only when I’m at target! Who isn’t?) and definitely not when it comes to expensive items. I wanted to share five things I take into account before investing in designer handbags. I hope these tips help you to make smart handbag purchases 😉 . DO YOUR RESEARCH – Whatever bag you’re eyeing, there are probably 234567 reviews on it online. Since it’s a big investment, it’s worth your time to do your research. You don’t want to purchase an expensive bag then later find out it’s difficult to close or that the zipper is poor quality.
CHOOSE THE COLOR WISELY – Are you a neutral girl?! Chances are you don’t need to splurge on a RED designer handbag then. Take a look in your closet and see what color bag would be the practical choice to add to your collection. For me, I stick to neutrals because these are just the colors I wear. I don’t think I’ll ever splurge on a bright colored bag- it’s just not my thing and won’t ever get as much wear as a nude bag would!
ADD IT TO YOUR VISION BOARD – Try to avoid impulse purchases (I usually regret them!) If there is a handbag you want- print a picture of it and add it to your bulletin board. If you still love it and want it 6 months later, chances are it would be a good buy for you.
HAVE A GOAL/DATE IN MIND – Set a goal for yourself. “When I accomplish ____, I will purchase the bag of my dreams!” That way you have time to think it over, and save up for it. This will motivate you to accomplish the goal! There’s nothing like a designer handbag in my future, to get me MOTIVATED (LOL.)
BUY IT AS A REWARD! – TREAT YO’ SELF. You accomplished a goal, or are celebrating something HUGE in your life.. what better way to treat yourself? You will feel accomplished, have a pretty bag, and always be reminded of what it is you accomplished.
