Hi friends! I’m so excited to share our new backyard with you all today. Our backyard space has been quite a work in progress ever since we bought our house 2+ years ago. Well this summer we finally bit the bullet and created our own little outdoor oasis! I’ve showed some sneak peeks of it here and there but I couldn’t wait to share all the details with you all.
It’s always hot and sunny in South Florida so one thing we knew we needed was some shade! Our backyard had literally no shade so it wasn’t ideal to spend much time outdoors or entertain in this space. We ended up finding the perfect soft top gazebo at Orchard Supply Hardware and immediately could envision how we wanted our space to look!
Once our gazebo was set up, my husband and I got to work stringing the bistro lights. Bistro lights make everything look so dreamy, don’t they? We’ve both always wanted them in our backyard! We ended up stringing them throughout the gazebo and made a X over our outdoor dining table. We are so in love with the end result!
Next we wanted to add to the space a bit with plants. We went with a Succulent for the coffee table and a gorgeous Butterfly Deep Pink Penta Plant. They can handle some sun so they were great outdoor plant options for us!
We also found the CUTEST pillows for the couch! Isn’t the palm print and the black and white stripes such a cute pairing?? They really helped to add some color and coziness to the space.
We just recently hosted family over for dinner to celebrate my husbands birthday and it was fun getting to show them how our project turned out! Entertaining here underneath the bistro lights is now one of our favorite things to do. I’m really looking forward to it getting a bit cooler and enjoying my morning latte here! xo
