The best sale of the year is arriving in just a few days now!! I look forward to this sale every year. It’s pretty much like Christmas in July! It honestly wasn’t until two years ago that I fully understood what this anniversary sale was about. I was like “what is everyone freaking out about?” and then I shopped it.. and suddenly it all made sense. So I thought I’d break it down for you all just in case you’re confused/overwhelmed like I was.
A sale that comes once a year that features NEW fall merchandise at a discounted price for a short period of time. You are probably thinking “why would I shop for fall now? It’s summer!” trust me when I say I am right there with you. It’s so hard to even think of fall. But… you will be quickly switching gears to fall in just a couple of months & your wallet will thank you for planning ahead!
July 13th– Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is open for cardholders only
July 21nd– The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens to the public
August 6th– Last day to shop the sale before prices go back up
You can shop the sale online or in store starting Thursday, July 13th IF you’re a Nordstrom cardholder. A cardholder includes the customers who have the debit card as well. If you don’t have a card, possibly consider signing up for one because a lot of the good stuff sells out in those first few days!
If you’re not a cardholder, you can shop the sale online or in store starting July 21st. I personally love shopping the sale online because the stores are so crowded during this time!
I recommend making a list of items your fall/winter wardrobe is lacking. Need a new pair of over the knee boots? a new fall bag? Now is the perfect time for those purchases as it’s all brand new merchandise and the lowest price you will find them. After August 6th, the prices go back up!
The key is to plan ahead and have an idea of what you’re looking for and search for those items specifically when the sale goes live. You can take a peek at the sale catalog HERE.
1. Handbags– Designers bags like Chloe, Kate Spade, and Tory Burch are often included in this sale. These bags go FAST- so don’t hesitate or you will miss it. You can always return it later if you decide to!
2. Jewelry– You can find brands like Michele, Michael Kors, Kendra Scott and more.
3. Outerwear– Theory, Joie, Rag and Bone are just a few of the brands that will be featuring staple outerwear on sale this year.
4. Shoes– I always purchase multiple pairs of shoes during this sale. Last year I fell in love with these fringe booties by Sam Edelman that I seriously wore all fall/winter long.
1. Cute Ankle Booties– my favorite shoes to wear in the fall/winter. I love buying them in a neutral color, so they literally go with everything!
2. Designer Denim– they always have the best selection
3. Voluspa Candles– always a popular item in the sale
4. Hanky Panky– $10 less per pair, the best undies I own!
5. Long Cardigans + Cute Tops– I always buy a ton of clothes during this sale. I plan to stock up on some good basics!
6. Beauty Items– Rumor has it that they will be offering buy one get one free beauty blenders! Shh.. top secret info 🙂
