Foundation is one of those must-have items for me (like I don’t want to be stranded on an island without it kind of thing!) So naturally I jumped at the opportunity to try out Clinique’s all new Superbalanced Silk Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Foundation and am excited to share my first impressions and final thoughts with you on this product. This foundation is considered to be “smart makeup” and adds moisture and absorbs oil when and where it’s needed. The description also says it’s longwearing, silky upon application, and provides water-resistant, moderate coverage.
I applied the foundation with a kabuki brush (my favorite for applying foundation.) I then followed up with my damp beauty blender to ensure there were no brush lines left behind. Upon application, I instantly liked the formulation. It concealed my redness and blemishes without feeling too heavy on my skin. It just felt and looked completely natural to me, which I loved! I finished applying the rest of my makeup and went about my day.
Several hours later, I did notice my t-zone was a little oily and re-applied my powder (which is pretty normal for my combination skin so I always have powder with me.) One thing I have to say is that the foundation did not move or rub off in any areas within an 8-hour time period. That’s impressive! Overall I’m happy with this foundation and already know it will be my go-to on days where I’m looking for a medium to full coverage.
