Ever since I started working full time, I’ve found it really hard to find the time to exercise. Part of the reason is that it’s usually dark outside when I get home and I have no energy to head to the gym! Now that we changed the clocks and it stays light longer, I’m really trying to force myself into a exercise routine by going running a few days a week. I wanted to share 5 of my essentials when it comes to working out and staying healthy and would love to know what some of yours are!
1. Stay hydrated: Hey you, drink more water! I try to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. I’m that girl that’s always walking around with her water at all times! It’s great for your skin, flushes out toxins and can even put you in a good mood.
2. Jam out: Listening to music that gets you pumped up and excited about working out is a must. I like to create a playlist of all my favorite songs but I make sure to keep it updated so I don’t get bored.
3. Put your hair back: There’s nothing worse than your hair all up in your face while you’re trying to exercise. Am I right? It’s definitely a distraction so bobby pins and hair ties are essential.
4. Track your progress: I purchased the FitBit One a few months ago and wear it every single day! It tracks how you sleep, your distance, steps, calories burned. I would definitely recommend it! I find it’s a great motivator.
5. Find the right shoes: I was never one to splurge on expensive running shoes, I would just pick up whatever I would find at TJ Maxx or Marshalls but I just recently purchased these Nike Free Run’s and they’re the nicest sneakers I’ve owned! It’s a plus that they’re neon.. you know, gotta stay fashionable!
