Happy Friday! I’m happy the weekend is finally here, I haven’t been feeling well this week and can’t wait to get some much needed rest. Last week, I was tagged by the lovely Ashlyn from Let it Beautiful, to share five truths about me. I don’t normally get too personal here on my blog, but figured it would be a fun challenge! I hope you enjoy learning a few new things about me ๐
01. I played on my high school’s badminton team for my junior and senior year! I loved it so much and most everyone would tease me about it but I didn’t care.. ha! I have my own professional racket + gear and everything. I don’t play much anymore but every once in awhile I’ll challenge Mike to a match ๐ Badminton is pretty intense, let me tell ya!
02. I’ve never ever seen snow! Can you believe that? I’ve lived in Miami my whole life, and I’ve traveled to several places during the winter looking for snow and I always miss it by like one day or it’s freezing but never snows. I want so badly to see snow and build a snowman. I am such a Miami girl and really need to travel more! This probably sounds funny to my readers who live up north ๐
03. When I was in high school, I had a bad case of meningitis and I had to get a spinal tap (ouch!) The doctors thought it was bacterial meningitis (the fatal kind) so I was rushed in an ambulance over to another hospital where they finally realized it was just viral and I’d be just fine. I stayed in the hospital for a few days and eventually it went away on it’s own. It was a pretty scary moment!
04. I graduated from college with a major in Psychology but realized my senior year, when I created my blog, that I really love marketing and design. The reason I have a job in Marketing now is mostly because of the skills I taught myself through blogging rather than what I learned in college (although, having my degree was necessary!)
05. I paint my nails 2-3 times per week. Once one of my nails starts chipping, I end up peeling all of them off! I hate how my nails look without nail polish so then I’m mad at myself. Sometimes I give them a one day break or put on the “oxygen nail treatment” polish by Julep but most days, you will find me with my nails painted!

I’m from CT and moved to FL 3 years ago and NEVER looked back! Snow is beautiful, but after several long months of freezing cold temps and dreary skies it gets old really fast.
Try booking a ski trip to Colorado in the middle of winter, you’re guaranteed to see snow if you go to Aspen or Breckinridge (sp?) that time of year. And you can enjoy it and leave it there and go back to sunny Miami! ๐

I can’t believe you’ve never seen snow! As an east coast Canadian girl, this is so crazy to even think about! And I’m with you, I paint my nails a couple times a week, too… I hate chipped nails and hate going without polish, so I feel like I’m always painting! So fun to read all these tidbits! Happy Friday!

I too am from Florida, and I have never seen snow falling. It always seems so weird to me when it’s super hot here and its still snowing in other places!
